Kakuonji Temple

This is a large temple once with as many as 12 buildings and is believed to have been around since the 9th century. The three Buddhist statues have been designated an important cultural property.

The Former Nakamura Family Residence

The oldest house in Nagano Prefecture and one of the oldest in eastern Japan, built in 1698. Along with its large storehouse built in 1780, it has been designated an important cultural property for its traditional style.

Inuzakura Bird Cherry in Oshio

The tree is said to be around 800 years old and 5-mm-sized flowers blooms from late May to early June. The magnificent tree, with a circumference of 8.45 meters, extends branches in all directions. Now, this tree is under treatment to keep its strength.
