Shirasawa Trailhead (for Mt. Gakidake)

Nanakura Trailhead (for Funakubo Goya (hut))

- From Shinano Omachi Station, about 30 minutes, 6,400 yen.
* For climbers staying in Nanakura Hot Springs or Kuzu Hot Springs, a shared taxi service is available (this should be reserved a day in advance).
From Shinano Omachi Station to Nanakura Hot Springs, 1,700 yen per person.
From Shinano Omachi Station to Kuzu Hot Springs, 1,500 yen per person.

- About 50 spaces in front of the Nanakura Sanso (lodge). At busy times, such as the fall foliage season, there is additional parking available at the Nanakura Dam parking lot. Please park there and walk (about 2 km, there is a dark tunnel).

- There is a public toilet in front of the Nanakura Sanso (lodge).
To get to the trailhead, go through the gate to the TEPCO management road and turn right in front of the tunnel. There is a public telephone.
Nigorisawa Trailhead (via Nanakura & Takase Dam for Bunatateone (Ridge) & Mt. Eboshidake)

- From Shinano Omachi Station to Nanakura, about 45 minutes, 8,400 yen.
From Nankura to Takase Dam, a special taxi service is available. It takes about 15 minutes and costs 2,200 yen per person (for up to 4 people). (To walk, it is about 6 km, or 1.5 to 2 hours.) Click here for details.

- Spaces for 50 cars in front of Nanakura Sanso (lodge). At busy times, such as the fall foliage season, there is additional parking available at the Nanakura Dam parking lot. Please park there and walk (about 2 km, there is a dark tunnel).

Yumata Trailhead (via Nanakura & Takase Dam for Takemura Shindo Trail, Suisho Goya (hut) & Noguchigoro Goya (hut))
Taxi, Parking Lot & Toilets: as for Nigorisawa trailhead
To walk from Takase Dam to Yumamta Hot Springs, it takes about 2 hours 30 minutes on an almost flat path.
The trailhead is behind Yumata Hot Springs Seiranso (inn).
Ogisawa Station Trailhead (for Harinoki Snow Gorge, Mt. Harinokidake & Mt. Rengedake)
* Facing the KEPCO electric bus station building, the entrance to the trailhead is to the left, near the vehicle gate.

- From Shinano Omachi Station, the Ogisawa Line bus, about 40 minutes, 1,360 yen. From Omachi Onsenkyo, 1,010 yen.

- From the Ogisawa Line terminus, Ogisawa Station, walk back along the road for about 15 minutes. (There is no bus stop at the trailhead.)

Otanihara Trailhead (for Akaiwa Ridge & Mt. Kashimayari)
* From Otanihara to Nishimata is about a 1-hour walk on a flat path.
- Bus
- There is no bus route to the trailhead. From Otanihara, it is a 50-minute walk to Kashima bus stop. From there, the City Bus Number 2 for Gen’yu runs 2 or 3 times per day, except Sundays and national holidays.
- Taxi
- From Shinano Omachi Station, 25 minutes, about 5,600 yen.
Descending taxis can be booked from the mountain lodge.
- Parking Lot
- It is possible to park 15 cars in the space before and after the bridge.
* Passengers on large buses will be asked to alight near the road junction for the Kashimayari Ski Resort because there is no space to turn near the parking lot in the summer climbing season. (It’s about a 20- to 30-minute walk from the junction.)
